Nobody can deny the glaring differences between the male and female forms. These clear physical differences have been the basis for the production of different sized and shaped sports clothing and equipment for generations, so it follows that mountain bikes should accommodate the differences too, why should male and female bikes be the same? These days the mountain bike designers are taking the differences into consideration. The majority of mountain bike brands now produce WSD bikes, tailored to the needs of the female form. Orange mountain bikes’ take on the perfect bike for the female form comes in the shape of the Diva, which has been carefully designed by the brains at Orange mountain bikes to suit the female physique, offering the kind of confidence and comfort in a ride that just isn’t possible for a smaller lady rider on a traditional bike.
Female riders will be in no doubt about why WSD bikes are such a necessity. Models aimed at male riders put women in a stretched position, leading to an uncomfortable ride and a lack of control producing difficulty on even the simplest terrain. The various Diva models are specifically designed by Orange mountain bikes to bring back the control on the trails.
The Diva is available in a hardtail and as a WSD variation on Orange mountain bikes’ bestseller the full suspension Five. Both models feature ‘the perfect geometry for the smaller feminine physique. The designers behind Orange mountain bikes made the Diva with the aim of placing the rider in a central position on the bike for better control and a more stable ride. The models feature a shorter top tube and a steeper seat tube angle, pushing the rider forward over the bike. This riding position keeps weight on the front end and provides a more confident riding position. Manoeuvrability and controlled climbs are the order of the day thanks to the steep seat angle.
Riders of under 5 feet tall can easily be accommodated on these bikes, thanks to their low stand over clearance. The great thing about these models is that the WSD additions have not detracted from the high tech approach we have come to expect from Orange mountain bikes.
